Question 1

Based on the news report on the burning of the Notre Dame and the Amazon: how important is it to preserve cultural heritage sites and historical statues? Think about the movement in South Africa to remove all statues associated with apartheid, for example, the removal of the statue of Cecil John Rhodes in Cape Town because of his association with apartheid. Should our heritage sites and historical statues be preserved for future generations or should they be removed because they were associated with a time of human suffering?
