Absolutely yes they should as well as what’s app, snap chat, twitter, and any other entertainment or chat site. You tube could maybe be somewhat useful in some situations but 1) anything found there can be found in writing elsewhere, and 2) I’m sure the school could set something up for specific classes to somehow have access to whatever is needed. No I don’t mean to set it up so the kids have access I mean have it so the teacher can play it for the entire class.
Kids should not be looking at or chatting on or playing around with their phones during school hours especially when in classes. They are in school to learn not play games on their phones or be chatting on them with their friends, or checking a FB feed. That’s all for after school hours.
I agree. There are already so many distractions surrounding a student's life. We need to give students a space where they can remain focused on their education.

Whilst I see the validity of this argument, I don’t agree. I think it is often easier to ban these sites and ignore their significance in students’ lives than it is to start to think of clever ways to incorporate them. Getting students to create YouTube Shorts, for example, could be a fun way to have students demonstrate their knowledge of a particular topic whilst also expressing creativity and sharing knowledge with others. It definitely needs to be something controlled and managed, but I think these sites can be very useful and allow for a fresh way to assess and/or teach content in the classroom.
